How to Design a Solar-Powered Computing Device

Intel have recently published white paper on subject "How to Design a Solar-Powered Computing Device"

This white paper describes different types of embedded solar-powered computing devices and provides design suggestions for Intel Atom processor-based platforms. It covers hardware and software practices for developing ultra-low power devices, as well as open source software available to designers.

Paper describes scenarios and type of devices that can be powered with solar energy.
This embedded systems would be powered with low power Intel Atom processor which consumes 2.0 watts active and as little as 0.1 watts in a deep sleep state.

As for designing solar powered computing device with Intel Atom processor paper explain changes in voltage regulation, source voltage and power management for this systems.
